Vitamin B12 Deficiency?

Of the list of symptoms, I have or have had:

• Weakness and fatigue
• Light-headedness and dizziness
• Palpitations and rapid heartbeat
• Shortness of breath
• Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet
• Difficulty walking
• Muscle weakness
• Irritability (but don’t get me started!)

No way to tell if the Depression is any worse than normal since I’m a diagnosed Depression freak. Doesn’t really feel any worse but I use a lot of “self-talk” in my day anyway.

So, SWMBO bought me some B12 tablets at COSTCO yesterday and I’m going to take one a day “just in case.” Nothing I can find about overdosing on B12 seems to be really dangerous so I’m not really worried about it. And if it makes me feel better then any danger from an overdose is worth it.

Not a whole lot else going on since it’s off and on raining and cold out. Me and the Dog been on a couple of walks way bundled up and mostly waterproof. Mostly staying in side though.

Hooked my old laser disc player up to that monitor I put together for SWMBO and have been playing “War of the Worlds” on it just to see if it all still works. Works. Picture doesn’t seem to be as sharp as I remember it; but tthat may be the monitor I’m using. Although it’s a newer monitor. Hmmm…

Started setting the new pi 3 up for radio stuff. Nothing seemed to be working until I remembered to hook up the various interfaces so things like the Signalink would work! Duh! Got to feeling really tired though so I still have things to do later.

Anywho, think I’ll go lay down and read a bit.

Rainy Friday. So We Burned Trash.

So, thinking of buying a MikroTik RB2011UiAS-RM Routerboard Rackmount 5xLAN 5xGbit LAN 1xSFP for my office because I really need more ethernet connections. Every time I turn around I’m adding something that needs the Internet or Network. The 4-port router I have now just ain’t cuttin’ the mustard.

Faster Internet would be a real boon too. This DSL is fine; but wish we had something faster out here in the boonies.

Added another Raspberry Pi3 with working wi-fi and bluetooth (but haven’t gotten the bluetooth to work yet). Still trying to find the MAC to add it to the list of devices that can access the Network. Until then I’m unplugging something from the network and plugging this in. Pain in the ass!

Setting up the radio Pi to be a print/scanner server and it ain’t turning out to be an easy thing to do. Lots of things to manually install and set up. I’ll get it; it just ain’t gonna be quick. Would be nice to get rid of the Windows XP computer sitting there though. Hang the Pi on the wall and free up some counter top space.

Got my 857d back! Woo Woo! It seems to be working just fine and I already have it set up to scan 10,20,40,80,160 meters and letting it run for awhile. Got to get completely set up for Field Day before Field Day. Still deciding between the laptop or the new Pi3 since I’ll be doing psk31/digital modes.

Like the headline says: it rained pretty much all danged day so we burned the burnables. Only made half our walks cause neither of us really wanted to stay out in the rain. Yesterday was so nice! Supposed to be the possibility of Thunder storms tomorrow. Sure. Pigs fly too.

Started Posts Several Times

Over the past few days. Got about a paragraph into them and bored myself to tears so I deleted them. Lucky You!

Life has been so SSDD around here I’m almost ashamed to mention it. Weather has been fairly wet, sometimes windy, kind of warmish then Cold again. Winter! In WaRshington.

Dog and I have been walking about 3 miles a day. Even in the rain. He hates his rainccoat though. Doesn’t like pooping around that strap that goes under his tail.

I’ve been moving things around on the new hard drives. Still up in the air about moving everything off the 5 TB drive and re-partitioning it. Handy to have it split like it is.

Love this 43” monitor I got for my office! I don’t have to put on my glasses to read the text on the thing when I run it in Radio mode. Otherwise it’s showing movies or tv shows all day in the background. Nice.

This week I finished the first 4 Pern books and am now in “All The Weyrs Of Pern.” It is such a joy to just sit and read again!

Just not a lot going on around here. Winter routine at it’s finest.

Oh, woke up the other morning from a strange dream that Gravity had increased X4 while I was laying in bed. But only from my waist down. Woke up with a terrible ache across my hips and down through both legs which went completely away when I turned to get up. Weird! This getting OLD shit sucks.

So, when does “old enough to know better” kick in?

Got to pick SWMBO up at the QFC tonight. Regular Friday Routine. Almost the best part of the day for me!

Finally Feeling Better

Which is a good thing. Got tired of feeling like someone had kicked my ass from here to tomorrow. Felt really crappy yesterday before the Wx changed; my head could feel the change long before the rain actually showed up. Weirdest feeling I’ve ever had.

Got off my fat, lazy, ass today and burned the burnables while it was raining. Made a run to ACE Hardware (via Habitat For Humanity and DQ) and got a couple of those floaty blocker thingies at the bottom of the tank and replaced those in the upstairs toilets. (God, I love Technical language!) Did a load of laundry.

Walked the Dog a few times even though it was raining. He won’t go out to his poop yard and poop even when I lead him out there. So I have to take him for walks rain or shine or snow. Dipshit.

Made some pseudo-BBQ chicken in my new convection oven with the pans SWMBO got me for it for Christmas. Was good but cooked way faster than I was expecting. Was good though. Chunked taters and a green bean& corn mix. Yummy.

My Pi2 in the living room seemed to go TU so I ordered a new one. Got here today. Well, the new one is a Pi 3. Assembled it, put the “hard drive” (SD Card) in, turned it on, and nothing. Turns out the SD Card went TU and I didn’t really need to buy a new Pi 3. Luckily I had a couple of cards laying around and installed NOOBS, etc, and both are working fine. The Pi in the living room is used as an entertainment center to watch movies or tv shows on our NAS on the tv in the big room.

What I’m going to do with the “extra” Pi 3 I don’t know. Yet.

BTW, DQ has totally lost my business. Stopped in for the $5 Deluxe Cheesburger meal. It sucked. Even in store the lettuce was warm, the fries were limp, and the Doctor Pepper tasted like IDon’tKnowWhat. So, they screwed their last chance to keep any of my business.

I Tried Christmas Lights Here Once

Messes with my radio’s. Especially those flashing or otherwise blinking Christmas lights. I suppose I could go buy some of those LED lights; but then I’d have to climb a ladder to put them up. Not really into “Christmas Lights” in any case. Just seems more commericialization of it all anyway. For an Agnostic I sure have funny ideas about Christmas.

Not a whole lot going on. SWMBO got to Oregon, Ohio okay; although getting that information out of her is akin to pulling teeth from a cat. Still hoping she’s having a nice visit though.

So, the Dog and I managed to get in a couple of walks between the rain drops today. Otherwise just normal Sunday routine. Though I had to stop and remember it is Sunday. Just not the same without SWMBO being around.

Headaches finally starting to go away. Not sure what’s been causing it the last couple of days, but, it’s been a real pain. Gonna be a damned shame if the new waterbed is causing the headaches and not the Wx. That would suck!

Youtube is so funny! Started out with People are Awesome and let it autoplay all day and it’s on “Franz Josef Gottlieb [1970] Hänsel und Gretel verliefen sich im Wald” right now. Crappy video quality.

The Mummy (2017)

Bought it at Walmart last Saturday. Finally watched it today. Not impressed.

Oh, the Effects were great. Acting was okay. But it just didn’t grab me. Seemed rushed.

Rained damned near all day. Hard. Got to work on the front steps awhile but it started  a downpour so I really didn’t get a whole lot moved and in place. Enough to tire me out though!

Rented a digger this past weekend. Had the thing from Friday afternoon to this morning. Got pretty much everything done that I wanted to get done so I really don’t feel too bad about spending $450 to get it done. And it was a lot of fun too.

That’s it. I’m alive. Fed. With SWMBO. Inside and dry.

Rained ALL Fookin’ Day!

So I got a lot of “stuff” done inside today. Bummed the Dog out cause we haven’t gone for a walk; but, what can one do? It’s freakin’ WET out!

I hate it. Hate Western WaRshington with a passion. Why? Look outside. Middle of June and it’s 64 degrees and WET outside. Fuck.

So I made beef stew for dinner as a consolation food. And cause I like beef stew. Used Thrive veggies for the, well, veggies. Found a chunk of beef in the freezer that needed to be used in a beef stew. Was pretty good; if I do say so myself.

And I did manage to get the trash burned. Which I like doing while it’s actually raining. Cause, you know, embers. Forest. House. SWMBO’s knickers waving in the breeze.

SWMBO is at her class tonight so she won’t be home until late. (Late for me cause I’m old.) Think I’ll go lay down and read a bit.

Still raining. Getting windy now. Oh, Joy.

Yep. Pretty Much Back To SSDD

It was overcast but fairly nice outside so the Dog and I spent as much time as we could out there. I fixed my Rider-Mower then mowed both the front yards, then the back yard. Moved some dirt into the tires I’m putting up to grow my maters this year. (Will probably stick to 1 beefsteak & 1 cherry tomato plants this year.)

Then we went for a walk, and, wouldn’t you know it, about 1/4 mile down the road it started coming down. Damn! Was a wet walk back. Damn. Too Old for this crap.

Not a whole lot else going on. Which is why we’re back to SSDD around here. Started up X-Plane 10 and flew around awhile. Been listening to all my Enigma albums. Made some type of stir-fry dinner that’s been in the freezer since Moses was a little boy. (Noodles were rubbery. Really rubbery.)

The One Burning Question I have for this evening is: How in the name of all that’s Holy can Amazon charge MORE for the electronic version of a book than they do for the printed (then sent to you) version? Just doesn’t make any sense. Look up “Odd Thomas” on Amazon and you’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s Stupid!

Anywho, that’s my life today. Pretty much SSDD.

I Love Learning Things!

Came up with a follow-up to my big hit “She Tried To Leave But I Have A Digger” that I’m gonna call “Maybe I should Have Planted Her In The Garden Out Back.” Hope it does as well.

Overcast all day, but I felt only a couple of rain drops while the Dog and I were out walking. Good! Finally put new laces in my tennis shoes (to replace those the Dog chewed out one night) and we walked the back 40 for the first time in a week or more. Probably more. He saw a big bird he really wanted; but the bird wasn’t having anything to do with it.

Playing with “YouTube Embed,” a plugin for Wordpress to show YouTube video’s (obviously). Locally it works great. Would work great on my self-hosted Wordpress site (here). Wouldn’t work on my backup blog at wordpress.com (cause they don’t let you install plug-ins) or Blogger (cause it’s, Blogger). Sure would be a lot easier to use than all that code I have to manually add to posts though. I may install it anyway.

Plugged my backup Movie Drive into the Raspberry Pi that’s hooked to the 4th monitor in my room (I usually use it with the laptop for “radio stuff”) and it’s been playing a STTOS marathon since last Saturday (except I pause it when I hit the rack). Just now getting into Season 3. Damn. Use it as background noise during the day (I am alone here, but for the Dog, all day).

Well, it did finally start really raining again. Crap!

SWMBO got home just about the same time as the MCARC 10-meter Tuesday Evening Rag Chew so I was a bit late checking in. Would rather talk to her anyday! I could hear everyone if I used that multi-band fan dipole I built 5 or 6 years ago; but it won’t tune for transmitting. Gonna have to check that out.

And that is it again. Still raining out there.

“Holy Shit I’m In A Bad Mood!”

Danged Dog chewed up my headpiece of my CPAP sometime yesterday and I didn’t notice until I went to bed (late). I let him know that I was not happy about that and put him outside to spend the night. I also spent a rough sleeping night waking up trying to catch my breath and working on a headache. And the Dog woke me up @ 0415 this morning banging on the front screen door. (Really!)

So I don’t feel good today. Still pissed. Tired. Weak. Breathing heavy. Heart will start to pounding when I do anything moderately active. Even our walk today was mostly open mouth breathing. Sucks!

Mostly, I need to get over being pissed. Fixed the strap he chewed off (beautiful staple job if I do say so myself). May change his name to “Dipshit” though.

Wow. Second cup of coffee today. @ 1300 or all times. Trying to get rid of this semi-headache, I guess. Want to lay down and take a nap. Don’t dare. Don’t want to wind up one of those guys that lays down for a short nap, and never wakes up. (Which is the way I’m feeling right about now.)

Just spent 2 hours getting all the “junkware” and “stuff” off her laptop. Man, she’s gotta learn to read the screens when she’s installing something! You cannot just click OK to everything. She had a bunch of so-so bad crap installed. (Nothing really threatening, I don’t think, but stuff that had to slow her laptop down a shitload.) Now to compress the drive to install Linux! (Dual boot for now.)

Got to pick SWMBO up at the QFC tonight and I actually do feel a bit better. I dont know if thats cause I actually feel better, or just that it’s getting near time for me to go lay down.

Whichever, that’s what I’m gonna be doing here pretty quick.

Another Outstanding WET Sunday

I say outstanding cause I got to spend a lot of time with the love of my life; SWMBO. Wet cause it hasn’t stopped raining even once; that I’ve noticed. And I’ve checked quite often cause the Dog really wants to go for a walk. (I do too. Hate sitting around too much!)

So, been working on the Truck Music USB drive; getting things moved around, re-making play lists, general organization stuff. Only 49 Gig free to add more “stuff” to it though. Hmmm. Maybe I should backup all those pictures I scanned to it? Would come in handy when I travel to visit family and need to get someone identified.

The MCARC 2-meter Sunday Chat Net went well; without me. My signal was all over the place so I mainly just listened in. Couple of New Guys checked in. That’s good.

Other than that it’s just our average, normal, usual lazy Sunday. Rained all day so I haven’t been outside at all. Sucks! Especially after day before yesterday being so nice. Tease!

Yes, It Is Saturday Night

But we got home from our Date Night early since SWMBO has some homework to do. Which is okay with me since that “learning” is going to let her do what she wants to do the rest of her life. Which is look up Dead People.

We went to the Panda Inn over in East Bremerton and had the all you can eat thingie. Took only one serving for me to be full! Good stuff, Maynard.

Our usual stop at Walmart. I spent $70 on Blu-ray movies and coffee! Phew. But I really like that Ethiopian coffee blend. I may even spend the $90 they want for a box of it on Amazon next month. Good stuff.

So, we be home. Added the new movies to the database (which syncs with my phone so I can finally start not buying duplicates cause I can’t remember what I have) and looking up bra’s on Amazon for SWMBO. Don’t ask.

Not one of the movies I got has that coupon for the online digital copy unless you go through Vudu. I’m NOT joining another site to store something. I’ve too many places where I have stuff now. I need to consolidate my shit. So, if I get any digital copies I’m sticking with the Google site. (I think it’s Google. Yeah, through Google Play or something like that.)

Bit of Rain. And A Bit Of Rain Too.

Got up late this morning (0730) and felt kind of slow (sleepy) all damned day. Here it is almost bedtime and I still feel tired. I gotta quit doing that!

Dog and I managed to make a couple of walks between the raindrops. Took him out a few times and let him just run around to let him work off some of this energy. He took off after birds a couple of times but came back when called. That’s good.

We also drove over to one of the guy’s from the club’s house to look at his camper he’s trying to sell. Not only wasn’t it really in the best of shape (maybe one more trip in it) (I could have worked with that though) it was way too long for my truck. I have a 6 ft bed and this thing was built for an 8 ft bed. Huge Camper! It just wouldn’t have worked. Ah, well. Craig’s List here I come again.

Popped a bag of popcorn and set a trap for any large mice/rats that might be coming in through the garage. I cannot find anyplace where they might be getting in except for unders the stair coming in from the garage. (And I’m not even really sure about that.) Next time it quits raining for any goodly amount of time I’ll walk around the outside of the house again for another look.

I’m going to bed. I’m tired.

Wow. Another Rainy Monday.

Who’d a thunk. But, up until around 1500 or so it wasn’t too bad. A bit cool. Had to wear my winter shirt when the Dog and I went for our walks, but, over all, not too bad. And then it started to rain. And rain. And really rain. WaRshington.

Dog was pretty bored so I gave him one of those bone-thingies to chew on. I made Devil’s Food Cake cupcakes. Washed 3 boxes of canning jars. My usual chores. Finally took some things to the basement that I’ve been meaning to take to the basement.

It’s way later and I’m going to bed. Old, you know.

Y’all got off easy tonight!

Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch.

Not a freakin’ thing went on today. Other than the usual chores and getting out to get mail: Nothing. Took the Dog for a couple of walks where we mainly tried to dodge raindrops.

Yesterday was “better” only in that it didn’t rain and we spent as much time as possible outside. That was nice. Still kind of coolish; but not too bad. Or I wouldn’t have been out there.

The MCARC 2-meter went okay. I still have a lot of RFI up here and I’m not sure that it’s the advent of new leaves (billions of new leaves) blocking my signal. But, I’ll move my antenna and see. Getting sick and tired of crappy signals.

One of the guys on the Net (one of our New Hams) says he might have a camper I can buy from him for around $300. Cool! He’s going to send me an e-mail with his address so I can go over and look at it. Cool!

And that’s it. SWMBO is home and doing her homework. I’m gonna go lay down and read a bit.

Holy Crap

It’s been raining HARD off and on all day. I’d swear we got 1/2 inch rain in 5 minutes earlier. Driveway & Back Yard rivers have started again. Dog and I managed to get in one walk between downpours. Man, it’s wet out there!

Made a trip to Home Depot in Silverdale to exchange the toilet seat we bought last Saturday. One of the thingies that holds the lid on was broke when I opened the package. Home Depot exchanged it easy peasy. Except for the drive (in the rain) there and back didn’t cost me anything.

Not a whole Hell of a lot going on. Downpours every so often. (Often enough to not head out for another walk.) Getting all my usual chores done. Converting some video.  Microwaving myself a lasagna for dinner. All the usual stuff.

Yay! Got to take the Dog for another walk. Didn’t rain on us!

Kinda Windy Out There

Has been all day. Dog and I attempted a couple of walks, but didn’t make it too far cause I’m a Wx Weenie. Don’t like getting wet anymore. (Outside Wx wise.) He don’t mind. I did let him run his brains out in the front yard between bouts of hard rain though.

Hearing lots of reports of downed trees and power outages around the whole Seattle and Puget Sound areas. There’s one now about wires down and on fire. Surprised our power hasn’t gone TU yet.

Not a whole lot happened yesterday cause of the Wx being so crappy. Dog doesn’t understand “It’s raining and I ain’t getting out in it” at all. Ah well.

Those cabinet doors I had loaded in the back of my truck? (You ask.) Met some nice young couple at the QFC tonight while waiting to pick SWMBO up and they took them off my hands. Well, I didn’t just meet them there; we had it arranged. Young lady really want’s to re-do her kitchen but they’re fairly newly married and can’t afford “fancy” cabinet doors yet. So they took mine. They are welcome to them and I hope they work out.

Not a whole lot else going on. SWMBO is home now (I brought her home!) and off poopin’ or something. I’m finishing up boring the Hell out of everyone. Radio is going in the background and really busy tonight.

Oh, my LG Tablet finally went TU. Plugged the usb cable into it to charge it. A couple of minutes later I’m smelling that burning insulation smell look around, and there’s smoke coming from the charging port. Shit. Unplugged it really quickly (for an old guy). The tablet still powers up (0% battery message) but the end of the usb cable is toast. So I bought the repair parts for this one and a new screen for the other one and will attempt repairs when the parts get in. Figure I’m really out nothing but parts cost if I can’t do it. Could have 2 LG pads again if I do.

I Swear I Got Webbing Between My Toes

I Am So Sick Of The Rain! It’s raining again today and even more is expected. And the wind is supposed to kick in sometime this afternoon. I Am Really Getting To Hate Western WaRshington! I don’t know if I can do another Winter up here. I really don’t. It may be time to check out Quartzsite, Az for Winter’s for a couple of years.

Been “playing” with making .webm files. Presently I have to load what I want to convert into “VideoMach” and save it as a .webm file. Bulky. Not a whole lot of Linux programs to do it either. Tried Arista & Miro and neither worked. I’ll keep looking though.

Raining harder out there now. Sucks. Did take the Dog for a short walk when it was just sprinkling; but had to cut it shorter cause we were getting wet. I hate this place.

Dog and I made a Post Office run (with a stop at Taco Bell for a Taco Salad (for me)) and, when we got back home, the rain stopped and the sun sorta made an appearance. So, after I ate, we went for a walk. Nice. Wind really kicked up though. Weird to be out in the wind and hearing all the tree’s creek from swaying back and forth. Kinda cool though.

The MCARC 2-meter Wednesday Evening Chat Net went well. Had 9 check-in’s; including a new Ham. Cool. Like “seeing” new Hams on air.

Anywho, that’s about it for me. Feeling kind of tired/weak tonight. Little bit dizzy too. Hmmm… Is there a trip to the Hospital in my future? Near future? We’ll see. Hell, I’m only 65. Almost.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies

From a mix; but I made them myself. Somehow, even though I used 2 mixes, and should have gotten about 84 cookies, I only got 25. Guess I shouldn’t make my cookies 4” or more across! Ah, well. That’s the way we like them. If you’re gonna have a cookie, have a COOKIE.

Not a whole lot going on lately. Raining still. I think it’s been raining fairly steady for the past 4 or 5 days. I know that yesterday and today the Dog and I only got outside a few times; and managed to get rained on at about the half-way point of our walk each time. (But, it would be the half-way point since when it started really raining I’d turn us towards home.)

So, this evening I thought it’d be awful nice if I made us some Peanut Butter Cookies. Extra crisp for SWMBO (who should be home any moment) and somewhat softer for me. All my usual chores are done. Dishes are in the machine and ready to be washed.

MCARC 10-meter Tuesday Evening Rag Chew went well. I heard most everyone this time! Cool!

Another Boring Blog Entry By Me

Yesterday was my usual Saturday around here: Waiting on SWMBO to get home to go on our date. Managed to take the Dog for a couple of walks between the raindrops.

SWMBO took me to the China Sun Restaurant in Gig Harbor. I probably shouldn’t get the all-you-can-eat, but, I enjoy the selection of foods instead of being stuck with one “meal” and that’s all you get. So I can have shrimp, crab, chicken, and whatever veggies I want all at once. Still, the best part of the meal, for me, is having my Schweetie sitting across from me. Way better than just eating.

Made a stop at Walmart (since we were in the neighborhood) where I spent almsot as much on Blu-Ray’s as we did on food. Well, not really. Only $20 but got “Backdraft,” “Megamind,” and Jack Reacher.

Our usual Sunday so far. It’s still raining so we probably won’t get out for a walk. Seattle’s average rainfall is right around 2.53” for this time of year. So far we’ve had 5.52” for the same time period. I Hate The Rain! I’d rather see it snowing than raining. (I’d actually rather have 80 years of Sunny 75+ degree days!) Ah, well.

SWMBO’s Home Teachers are coming over after Church so I’ve been ‘straightening up.” Pulled some chicken to thaw so she can fry it for dinner. Dog really wants to go for a walk. (And I may try to slip one in even if it is raining. We’ll see.)

Holy Crap! It’s now an hour after my bedtime. Where did the time go?

Oh, the MCARC Sunday evening 2-meter net went really well. Even had a couple of new folks check in. Cool!

 

Well, Home Teachers cancelled out so SWMBO made fried chicken,veggies, and corn bread stuffing for dinner. Was good. I do believe she could turn out to be a rather nice Southern Girl!

Been watching Natural Disaster stuff, mostly about tornado’s, on YouTube. Joined the Kahn Acadamy and watched some video’s on Geology. Cool!
