Boycott Sony Pictures.

My goodness yesterday was NICE! Except for making a trip to Port Orchard (cause I’m pretty sure Jo Anne’s doesn’t want a fat old naked guy in their store) and when the UPS guy showed up, me and the Dog were sans clothing all day. That’s the way the world should be!

Spent most of the day outside setting up for Field Day. Completely set up the radio and both computers. Was getting better psk31 signals out there than I’ve been getting in the house for these past couple of weeks. (Or so.)

But, everything works. Even my old tuner is working today on 20 meters. Didn’t hear anyone on the 7.268.5 Noontime Net though.

Woke up to a completely different Wx day today. Cold out. Had to put on a long sleeved shirt for our walk and while puttering around outside. Figures the Official 1st Day Of Summer would be on the coldest day of the week (so far). (Seems to me I also got married on this date way back in 73 or 74. Damn.)

I’ve been subpoena’d for the trial for my ex-renter. The part I really don’t like is the “YOU ARE COMMANDED TO APPEAR” like I’m not a free citizen or something. I mean, I don’t mind testifying for the Prosection but you could at least ask.

The Defense came by for my statement today. Interesting. She tried to lead a couple of my answers (which I called her on) and asked me a couple of “opinion’ questions (which I didn’t answer cause my “opinions” don’t mean squat). Mostly I think it went well. I’ll find out differently in court though. I hate lawyers.

Not a whole hell of a lot else going on. We get to pick SWMBO up in Bremerton @ 1945 or so since she’s working late. Still need to figure out, and load, whatever we’re going to be eating (and munching on) this weekend. Gonna miss Date Day as far as going out. SWMBO may have to go shopping on her own! (The Horrors!)

Another Great Sunday At Home

And I’m loving it!

So, what the heck have I been up to? And for how far back; since I haven’t posted in a few days?

Friday? Yeah, that’s enough. Friday. Hmmm… What the heck did I do? Stayed around the house “doing things.” That’s about all I can remember. Dog and I did make a dump run but I don’t remember if that was Friday or not.

Saturday was MCARC meeting in Shelton. It went well. LOTS of planning for Field Day at the end of the month.

Then, the afternoon was “date day” with my lovely young bride of 30+ years. I always look forward that that. She took me to the China Sun Buffet (all you can eat) in Port Orchard (where I stuffed myself this time). Then our usual stop at Walmart. Then back home.

Today, Sunday, was really a SSDD. Only got half the laundry done cause we ran out of the soap we use. (More on order and should be here Tuesday.) SWMBO made dinner (it was good!). Went on a walk around the back-40.

The MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net went okay; but only two of us checked in tonight! Haven’t seen that happen in awhile. But, it is almost Summer, the Wx is pretty nice today, so I kind of expect most folks would be out doing something. And that’s okay.

Think I’ll go lay down and read a bit.

Instead I spent an hour looking at shipping containers online. Phew!

Wow. Almost Got Warm Outside Today.

Again. SSDD. Except the sun was out and it got kind of nice out there. So me and the Dog got out and tried a couple of things to get my long-wire antenna up again. None of which worked, of course.

First I hooked fishing line to the drone and made a couple of attempts to get over the tree. Almost worked the first time! Wasn't quite as far around the tree as I thought. My other attempts were dismal failures in that it was just too breezy to have good control over the drove. And I almost got it hung up in the tree.

So, tennis ball gun. Ball went right where I wanted it first shot. Fishing line went right where I wanted it to. Fishing line got caught up and the ball is now hanging about 30 feet up. Kind of inaccessable to an fat, old, guy like me. So I'm leaving it in place, with plenty of extra string, to see if the wind will work it down to where I'll be able to grab it. We'll see.

Was really nicer outside. Took the Dog for a couple of walks. He’s a warm Wx Dog for sure. Been antsy all day. I’ve been busy doing Club finances and putting together those cansolidator thingies SWMBO bought and haven’t been able to pay that much attention to him. So I chased him around the big room for awhile. He’s getting to where he’ll “fight” with me. Cool!

The Monday evening NMARES 2-meter Net went well. Everyone was scratchy;  but everyone is always scratchy on this repeater.

SWMBO is home and in doing her homework. Dog is finally getting calmed down. Think I’ll go read a bit.

The Pandorica Opens

Picked SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing yesterday evening and ran her out to her class at the Mullinex Church building. Dropped her off and I went to Walmart.

Bought a nice battery, a trickle charger (one of the supposidly SMART ones), and some other stuff to move my radio’s from house power to battery power. Walked out of Walmart $130 broker but think this’ll work out.

So, today I put it all together and hooked it up. Only had to make one run into town for different parts. Working good so far. The little charger thingie has a constant green light: indicating the battery is charged. Been listening to all three radio’s most of the afternoon and it hasn’t changed. Cool! Now, if/when the power goes out I can still operate my radio’s. And, if I don’t permanently mount this outside, I could take it along for field day. Need to get a solar panel for field charging. Hmmm…

Not a whole lot going on. Working on the radio’s part of the day. Taking the Dog for walks. Playing with localhost and setting up Piwigo & Wordpress to play with. Really important Retired stuff.

Picked SWMBO up at the QFC and we be home. She’s off in her room doing whatever she does in there. Waiting on a friend of her’s to show up for some fabric. Radio’s still working just right. Doctor Who in the background.

Think I’ll go lay down and read.

Holy Crap. COLD Out There!

Took the Dog for a short walk (mostly just around the house) and even he was anxious to get back into the house to warm up. No wonder it’s so hard to get him to go outside to take a poop! Something wrong with Sunny but Freezing!

Not a lot happening today. Mail run. Couple of walks. Installed some “cansolator” things into one of the cabinets to test out holding Thrive stuff. (I don’t like it. Way too much empty space. So far.)

Put some wood on the metal shelf I installed in my room a couple of weeks ago and put all those planes I got from my FIL on it. Too high.

X-Plane for a couple of hours. Trying to learn to land a helo without bouncing all over the place. Thinking maybe I should volunteer to be a drone pilot for the Marines. (Yes, I could kill people that, as we say down South, need killin’.)

Submitted a bunch of pictures to Google Maps from places we’ve been. Fun. I take lots of pictures when we go places. Love those with SWMBO in them.

All the usual chores, of course.

MCARC 10-Meter Tuesday Evening Chat Net went well. Still haven’t heard anyone from Ohio though.

So. Guess I’ll quit boring y’all.

Yes, I Know That I Can Be Depressed

Which I have been lately. Really depressed. So I do a lot of things to try to work my way out of it (including a lot of self-talk) but don’t seem to actually accomplish anything. Mentally or physically. And that is starting to get on my nerves. (And part of it is 3 weeks of rain, I know.) I have to be careful and keep my wits about me though cause depression has gotten me into a lot of trouble in the past.

Trying to listen to the noon-tim e net on 7268.5 but someone is playing different types of music too near that frequency. Don’t know if it’s just someone fooking with the Net or if it’s coming from overseas.

Started looking at getting another dog. A breed that stays between 15-20 pounds and short haired. Was looking at a Beagle but they get way over 20 lbs. Haven’t been impressed with anything mixed with Chihuahua. Never did like Chihuahuas. But a Beagle-Chihuahua mix might stay smaller. I don’t like flighty/scared/nervous all the time. Or anytime, really. (On farther reading, I don’t think a Beagle will work for me.)

Made a dump run cause it was time to make one. Came back and played with my tower a bit. Assembled the bottom 3 sections but couldn’t lift it upright. Too heavy for this old guy. Want to sit upright to kind of get it out of the way. I’ll get help. Sometime.

Turned that ham thingie (senior moment) into pork chops and got those in the freezer. Psuedo BBQ’d myself one and made mixed veggies to go with it for dinner. Was yummy.

The 10-meter Net went well even if we didn’t actually have a Net. Just a few of us checking in and talking awhile. Cool!

Anywho, that’s about it. Looks like Trump is winning (Yay!) so I think I’ll just go lay down and read a bit.

Hey. Got Me A 56 Foot Tower.

Cool! One of they guys had one he wanted to get rid of cheap (or relatively cheap) so I took it off his hands. It’s only 56 feet, but, it’s 56 feet taller than any tower I had before. Sun came out today so I went to his place and picked it up. In sections. Took two (2) trips but he lives only about 4 miles from here.

So, now I have to find the baseplate for it, dig a big damned hole, fill that hole with cement and install the tower. Oh, Joy! But it ought to be fun though. Thinking of sticking my 2m/440 and 6BTV antenna’s on it, but may save up for a nice all-band yaggi. (Which are freakin’ huge!) First I need to get the tower installed. Still not sure where I’m going to do that; but I’m sure SWMBO will let me know.

Not a whole lot going on really. Saw a really young child wandering around back by the neighbors-from-hell’s house, and, knowing they weren’t home, nor are they Hispanic looking, I called 911. Took 20 minutes and two people (and a lot of time on hold for heaven’s sake) to give them the particulars. Then it was another 30 minutes before the Sheriff showed up. Meanwhile, I walked the kid to the road where we found his parents looking frantically for the kid. All ended well but I don’t trust the 911 folks anymore.

Anywho, finally got my 857d out of the truck and re-installed in the house. Seems to be working fine but I have to reaquaint myself with what switch position is what antenna.

OH, took SWMBO to her exam at the Naval Hospital this morning and sat around for a few hours. Standing outside the Colonoscopy Lab one gets a completely different look from folks to the statement “Just waiting on my lovely young wife of 30 years” than one does when standing outside the Maternity Ward.

Still Ripping CD’s For SWMBO Too.

Amazon Prime. Not sure, really, how it works. I joined it because I was beginning to order a lot of stuff from Amazon, and the thought of free, 2 day, shipping (if the item qualified) was appealing. I’ve easily spent the equivilent of the Prime membership fee in shipping fee’s over the past year or so. But, I have yet to receive anything in 2 days. It usually takes 2-3 days just to pull the order and get it ready for shipping. Maybe I just don’t understand …

Like, according to the message I got the other day, my latest order was supposed to be here by 2000 Sunday (today). Deliver on Sunday? But that’s what the message said. Still haven’t seen it though. Message not withstanding. So, maybe I don’t understand.

Pretty normal Sunday around here. Spent the day trying to get that computer I threw together to boot from USB; which it will as long as I only want to run Linux Mint KDE Live. Nothing else will boot. And Linux Live locks up just after checking to see if there is enough space on the hard drive and is connected to the Net. Doesn’t really lock up; it just won’t advance any farther. Think I’m going to remove all but one drive and try again.

SWMBO made dinner and we fed the Missionaries. It was good. (Dinner. Not the Missio.. Wait, they’d have to be good too or they wouldn’t be Missionaries.) But dinner was good!

The MCARC Sunday Evening 2-meter Chat Net went well. Only 4 or 5 check-ins but still interesting. Still, I’m glad AE7VT took it over.

Rained off and on all day but I managed to get some burning done. This will be the Summer that Didn’t Happen. Just you watch.

Vulcan Vivisectionist Visits Villa Via Verona

Pretty normal second Saturday of the month so far. Got up early and headed out to Shelton for the MCARC meeting. It was okay. Still nothing decided about much of anything; but that’s the way the Club works. And our “new” repeater is still being tested! It’ll probably be in “testing” four years from now.

Just playing around and watching Season 2 of the original Star Trek while waiting on SWMBO to get home and take me out for dinner. Waiting on a package from Amazon with my new through-the-windows 144/440 antenna and a Can Crusher. All that’s supposed to be here today; if Amazon Prime Membership means anything. Still not sure how that’s supposed to work; I’ve yet to order anything and get it in 2 days. Half the time it takes 2 days for them to even pull the order and get it ready for shipping.

And it’s still raining off and on. Joy.

My Lovely-Young-Bride of almost 30 years got home, then took me to Sisters Restaurant in Shelton for dinner. Tried something called Chicken Marsala. Yuck. Think I’ll stick to the chili burger and fries from now on. Was thinking of fish but didn’t like their selection. Ah well. SWMBO enjoyed her dinner though.

Then we stopped by a quilt shop and I let her browse a bit before heading to Walmart. Where we spent way too much mondy. I cannot pass the blu-ray bin! This time I got 3 of the X-Men movies. She got herself some new clothes cause she’s lost 2 pant sizes: Woo Woo! Proud of her.

So we be home now. Except she just left to go to Safeway cause she finds she needs some oatmeal to make peanut butter oatmeal cookies. She should be back in a few.

Anyway, cookies are cooling on the counter top. SWMBO is off in her room trying to find a video for her class at church tomorrow. I think this Old Guy is going to go lay down and read. Since it’s already well over an hour later than I usually do that. Weekend!

City On The Edge Of Forever. Seattle.

So, I have mixed feelings about the “new & improved” “Special Effects” in the Star Trek: TOS Blu-Ray discs I got yesterday. I’ve already ripped the first season, and watched a couple of episodes, and have this thought: The “New & Improved” “Special Effects” aren’t that good. They sort of remind me of the “Special Effects” in “The Last Starfighter” (which did not look realistic at all). They look kinda good, but fake. But I’d have to rate them slightly better than the original effects. Hence the mixed feelings. But the enhanced video is great!

Almost a fairly normal Sunday around here. Most of the chores are done. Most of the laundry is done. Spent most of the day ripping season 1 of Star Trek: TOS and some of SWMBO’s cd’s. Finished getting my “shack” and radio set back up after Field Day. Finally got rid of some of the mess on my counter-tops.

OTT, just not a lot going on. The MCARC Sunday 2-meter Chat Net went well; even if we had only 5 check-ins. All the signals were great tonight. Unusual.

Tomorrow we’ll be going to the annual pancake breakfast at the church. Then we may, or may not, “go for a drive.” I was thinking of just heading North on HWY 101 and seeing what we see. But SWMBO reminded me that I really want to work on that wire I need to move to finish putting that new cabinet in the wall. Hmmm. Take a drive with my Schweetie or do something around the house? Hmmm.

Anywho, that’s it. This Old Guy is off to bed and his book.

Field Day 2016 Is Done. Easily Bored People Should Exit The Building Now.

Just like the headline says: Field Day 2016 is over and done with. Phew!

I, of course, got out to the Field Day Site around noon last Friday to open the gate and accept the Porta Potty. The weather was pretty crappy with wind and drizzle for most of the afternoon. Cleared up but stayed windy while I was setting my “shack” up. SWMBO joined me for the two nights! (That is always cool!)

Saturday we had me and AD7DY-Omer as the only Hams taking part in Field Day, but a butt-ton of visitors (including a Judge). Later in the afternoon AF7VT-Ric set up his station and started transmitting. AD7DY-Omer worked 40-meters (like he always does), AF7VT-Ric worked 20-meters voice, and I was working 20-meters PSK31. (And I actually made the first contact of our group this year. Unusual.)

Saturday evening K7TIT-Dan came out and joined us for awhile. I don’t know if he worked any contacts or not. He did do the GOTA station at Kneeland Park in Shelton and made quite a few contacts from there during the day. Good job! N7YGE-Jerry came out and set up a Packet Station and showed everyone what that’s all about.

Today I kind of just ran down; and I didn’t even stay up that late the night before! Ric & Omer had stayed up most of the night. I made Bacon and Eggs (scrambled) for all of us so we could start the day with a full stomach. Not that it did any good in my case. Guess I’m getting Old. But the Wx was perfect this weekend! Warm!

So, around 1100 I shut everything down, loaded all my “stuff” back into the Caravan and Truck, and came home. First things first! Hot Shower! Then I unloaded the Caravan and Truck and started putting everything away. SWMBO came out and helped me clean up.

And now we’re just lounging around resting and gathering our strenght for this coming week. Y’all can check out the pictures Ric & I took of this weekend on our Flicker site. (When I get off my Old Ass and post them.)

Will probably go to bed early tonight. Afterall, I’m turning 64 tomorrow.

Well, Ain’t That Just Peachy!

Last Thursday was my (early) appointment with my Doc. He (and my Lovely-Young Bride of almost 30 years) thinks I have “intermittent claudication” in my right leg. And my blood pressure was kind of high. Oh, Joy. So he changed some of my meds and is setting me up for a consult to a local testing facility. Could require surgery to open things up. (Can you say Stent?)

Friday, the light-of-my-life had the day off for her own Dental & Doctor’s appointments; but I had a headache so bad I was totally useless all damned day. Weather change, again. Back to cool and sometimes wet.

Saturday, yesterday, started out with the MCARC monthly meeting in Shelton. It went well. Nice ride there and back too.

When SWMBO got home from the genealogy library, she took me to “Famous Dave’s” for ribs and burnt ends. On the way home we stopped by “Cash-N-Carry” and picked up a big slab of pork to cut pork chops from, a 25 lb chunk of beef to make hamburger from, and a bunch of other stuff that we need. And our usual stop at Safeway.

So, today, I’m probably going to grind meat most of the day. Want to make another batch of my home-made chili for the coming year. Good thing I like canning! (Mostly.)

Just read about the terrorist attack in Orlando. Fuck Muslims. We need to take the entire Cult out all over the world. Then we need to take out the Left Media. Anyone who supports Islam should be dealt with. Harshly.

Spent the better part of the afternoon slicing up beef. SWMBO helped me by running it through the grinder. Now have 14 (or so) packages of brand new hamburger starting the freezing process. Love those sucker-bag thingies!

And I started the meat for my batch of chili. And made spaghetti for dinner. Finishing up the laundry. Still gotta remake the bed but that don’t take long.

Been having old John Wayne Westerns running in the background. Cool!

Cut a pork loin into 16 of the purtiest (and one ugly fucker) pork chops you ever saw. They’re freezing now too.

MCARC 2-meter Sunday Evening Chat Net went pretty good. Good signals all around.

Mostly Busy HOT Day! 90+ Again.

My Lovely-Young-Bride of almost 30 years (this December 20th!) didn’t have to go to work today. She stayed home to take the Dog to his appointment. But the damned alarms still went off this morning; so I’ve been up since 0515. Yay.

Made a trip to Home Depot to check on that smallish digger they have for rent. It was there, but you can’t sign up for a particular time, and I wasn’t ready to take it today, so I got some other stuff I needed. 12 80-lb bags of cement mix and 15 cinder-blocks. Luckily, one of their guys helped me load it.

But I had to unload it myself! Phew! So I spent the afternoon assembling raised-bed garden beds. Got 3 done and have only 2 to go. Had to rebuild the forms for the larger blocks but that took only about half an hour. My garden is starting to come together!

SWMBO brought Taco Bell home when she came back from the Dog’s appointment. One of his ears is clear but the other is still infected. Damn!

After dinner I got SWMBO out to help me reposition my long wire dipole. I shot the ball over the tree and she watched where it landed. Then she held the heavy duty string while I pulled it over the tree. It all worked out.

So, now my long-wire dipole is about 25 feet  higher. Cool! We’ll see tomorrow night if it makes any difference on the MCARC 10-meter Tuesday Evening Chat Net.

For some reason, my head is trying to pound. Think I’ll go take a warm shower and go lay down and read. It’s almost bedtime anyway.

Had A Fairly Busy Day!

Really! I, the old, retired, guy had a fairly busy day. Cool!

Started off by taking SWMBO to the Ferry Landing. The Sunrise was beautiful. Bright and Orangy. Really pretty.

Stopped for gas on the way home. Made a dump run for our renter.  Came home and renewed my perscriptions over the phone. (Can pick them up tomorrow after 1300.)

Tried calling Peach Beach RV Park to make an reservation. After almost a dozen “mailbox is full” messages I finally got a recorded message that probably had a lot of good information. Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand it. (One of these days I really need to take that course in Garble!) I finally wound up e-mailing the place but I really don’t expect an answer. And I don’t know if we should just drive down there and take a chance that they’ll have a spot we’d enjoy.

Went to Shelton to meet up with the other MCARC Club Officers to check out a Church as to suitability for our Club meetings. Place is huge! All dark wood inside. Really nice. Kind of BIG for me, but, we could get used to it. Doubt we’ll pick this place though; cause they want $25/meeting. With no gauarante that we’d even be able to have a meeting if they schedule a wedding or funeral. And we’d havt to bring our own coffee.

At Alpine Meadows, where we’ve had our meeting since forever, we pay $120/yr for coffee and the room is free. Unfortunately, the room is getting rather small nowadays. Which is good cause that means more people are showing up for the meetings so no complaints about that. We’re just getting to need more room.

Picked SWMBO up at the Ferry Landing and we’re home now. Think I’ll go lay down and read awhile. All this starts early again tomorrow.

Holy Crap! I Haven’t Posted In 4 Days!

What kind of lazy POS am I? Not posting. Why, I might as well be a member of Congress (or other Government Agency).

Plain truth is: I’ve been reading. Mostly “The Destroyer” series of books; but reading none-the-less. And I’m boring.

Last Tuesday I made a non-productive trip to Shelton. Managed to not pick up either the coax I went for, not did I manage to stop by my friends house to look at his radio. DID stop and grab an excellent burger at “Bob’s Burgers” in Allyn on the way home. Ate over looking the Sound and just chillin’. That burger was good!

Wednesday I woke up with a headache so was pretty much useless all damned day. As usual, it started to go away about half an hour before bedtime. Then, just about the time I drifted off to sleep SWMBO bounds out of bed on her way to the bathroom. Which woke me up and it was awhile before I got back to sleep.

Thursday? That was just yesterday. Not a thing comes to mind.

Today I made the Bank run for the Club. Made a Bank run for myself. Then drove out by the Airport and contracted for a digger to be delivered early Monday morning. (This next Monday. Not the last Monday. Nevermind.) Been working on the Club Insurance for awhile. Checking with a Company in Oregon to see how much they’d charge us per year.

And that’s pretty much it. Been working on the MCARC Forums while watching rescue crew’s in Japan do their thing. I remember when I was young enough to do that. Enjoyed the Hell out of it.

Oh, my Uncle called me this morning to double check that we’re planning to go to the Family Reunion this year. Yep. As it stands now, that is.

I get to pick SWMBO up in about half an hour. Think I’ll take the Dog with me. Wait freaks him out though. He’s just not sure how to handle that.

Got Oot And Aboot For A Bit Today

Decided to get my Old Ass out of the house for a bit; had to take Netflix to the Post Office anyway. So I made the rounds of the “junk” shops in town. Homes For Humanity, JK’s Antique’s, Faith In Action. Missed the new one that opened but will get it in the future. Something to look forward to.

Found 3 small steel bowls in decent condition for a fair price at JK’s. Luckily it was half-off Tuesday! Cost me a whopping $4! Otherwise, saw a lot of cool stuff, but nothing worth either buying or paying the price they were asking. Why do most junk stores price their shit like you can’t do without it? They’d probably get rid of more of their stuff if they settled on a price, then immediately cut it by 50%.

Anywho, that (along with stopping at the Post Office (thought I’d forgotten that, didn’t ya?)) took a whole 1.5 hours! But it was kind of fun. Maybe I ought to head into Bremerton and do the same tomorrow. Supposed to be a fairly nice day. Would get me off my ass for awhile.

Friend came over and we worked on the Linksys boxes setting up Mesh-Net. Got two of them seeing each other. Only took 3.5 hours and 53,000 reboots of both routers and computers to do it. Damn, we good! More! More! Give Me More!

And that’s about it for the day again. Not a whole lot going on. SWMBO is home safe. Delivered the Renter’s mail. Played with the Mesh-Nodes a bit more (unsucessfully this time. Can’t get them to actually talk to each other). I’m off to read a bit.

Wet. Windy. Power Flickering. Cool!

Each of my monitors has different backgrounds from our latest trips around. I find that, even though I enjoy all the pictures, those that pop up with my Lovely Young Bride of almost 30 years seem to be my favorite. I cannot help but smile each time I see her face on one of my screens! Wonder why that is?

Braved both downpour and traffic and drove to the COSTCO in Silverdale to “upgrade” my phone. Lady pulled up our account information and asked me for a password for our account. Password? What password? Nothing I could remember (which wasn’t much and included misremembering SWMBO’s last 4) worked. Holy Shit In A Handbasket. Wasted trip. More traffic, and rain, on the way home.

But I did stop and get a 3-piece chicken tenders $5 buck lunch on the way home. Not much consolation; but something. And I got what they were looking for from SWMBO after I got home.

Now the lights are flikering and I should probably turn my computer off before it goes out completely. Getting windy out there! Think I will shut down. Later.

I be back. Had a couple of flickers that reset the clocks (Thanks, Mother Nature!). Heard several reports of trees down across powerlines and roads a bit earlier. It did get rather windy out there. Hope the Ferry still runs tonight and SWMBO gets home.

A friend of mine, a new Technician, came over to take part in the MCARC 10-meter chat Net. Didn’t have a “net” exactly, but he did get to talk to someone else on 10-meters. Cool. Then we spent a couple ot hours doing “radio stuff” and just talking about different things. Was fun.

But it’s past my bedtime now.

Kind Of Another Lazy Day. Sort Of.

Got an e-mail that my friend, W7FBI (Lee), passed away from heart problems yesterday. He was, like, ancient, had been a Ham since forever, and I’d been to his house several times to help out with putting up antenna’s and ‘stuff.” He was also our Club President or Treasurer occasionally. He was a really nice person. He will be missed on our Nets! Not totally unexpected, considering his age, but still …

Other than that: not much happening today. It’s kind of sprinkling out there but the grounds so wet we have our backyard river running again. There’s a pool (of water) about 8 feet out from the house that I’m hoping doesn’t spread any further.

Made a new Flickr account for KF7LTT just to post the Club/Ham Radio pictures and, maybe, make it a bit easier for the other Club members to get to when they’ve the urge. Uploading is slow today and it took a couple of hours to upload all the pictures I have and get them arranged in some semblence of order.

Looks like a great swath of the East Coast is getting hammered by a snow storm. Cool. Hope the White House caves in on some certain few people. But that’s just me.

Anyway, got to pick SWMBO up at QFC this evening so I took the Dog with me. He does a lot of complaining until she finally shows up. But, that’s okay. He’s a Dog.
