Has been off our coast the last 3 days or so. High winds on the coast. Lots of rain. Power outages over Seattle way. Strong easterly winds are blowing in the eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca and off the coast now (up to around 60 mph).
From the Cliff Mass Weather Blog: This morning, the offshore storm rapidly intensified and achieved record status, with the central pressure dropping to at least 943 hPa (the previous record for our region was 950 hPa).
Contrary to popular belief in the rest of the country, we DO get Hurricane's up here. Only I think we call them typhoons or cyclones. But most of them peter out or head north-east. Poor Canada. At least it wasn't very windy/stormy here. Which means a lot to me since I live here.
I've had this Epson XP-410 printer/scanner in my basement for a couple of years. Someone gave it to me. Got it out today and found out you don't need to hook it to a computer to save scans. Just stick in a SanDisc and off you go. Nice. So I'm scanning one of my Uncle's photo albums to test the quality. Time consuming. Tedious. Really kinda boring.
People often complain about the police, but you rarely hear about the positive things they do, such as this incident involving a biker and a frozen carburetor.
Last January on a bitterly cold winter's day, a North Dakota State Trooper on patrol came upon a motorcyclist who was stalled by the roadside.
The biker was swathed in heavy protective clothing and wearing a full-face helmet for protection from the cold weather.
"What's the matter? asked the Trooper.
"Carburetor's frozen," was the terse reply.
"Pee on it. That'll thaw it out."
"I can't," said the biker.
"OK, watch me closely and I'll show you."
The Trooper unzipped and promptly warmed the carburetor as promised.
Moments later the bike started and the rider drove off, waving. A few days later, the local State Troopers' office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorcyclist.
It began with: "On behalf of my daughter Jill…."
SWMBO had a minor setback with her ABG test today. She topped out at 95; down from the 130 or so the other day. She's kind of depressed about it but they didn't raise her O2 levels again so I don't think they're worried about it. AND I tried to tell her to expect a setback or two. Don't worry about it. Shit happens.
Looks like Fauci the Fake will finally be brought down by Puppies. Not because he lied to Congress and the American People. Beagle Puppies. As long as he's kept out of site and shut up forever.
